Strictlys Bobby admits winning Glitterball Trophy would be cherry on top

Shirley Ballas branding Bobby Brazier ‘the king of ballroom’

Strictly Come Dancing’s Bobby Brazier has admitted that winning the competition would be the “cherry on top” of his Strictly cake. Bobby and his professional Dianne Buswell will be performing the Salsa, their Couples Choice and the Show Dance during tonight’s final.

Throughout the last 13 weeks, Bobby has been on a journey and has been very open with how he has coped, admitting when his performances didn’t go the best and being more than grateful to have Dianne as his partner. He recently opened up on what it would be like to win the show and compared the journey to a cake.

Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, he explained: “I think it would be the cherry on top. The cake is being in the final and having done as much as I could of with Dianne.

“So the cherry on top would be to lift the trophy, it would mean a lot to both of us. It would just be another great Strictly experience that I would never forget.”

Dianne added: “It would be a real magical moment. I have dreamt of this moment for many many years, and I feel there have been many times I have gone ‘maybe not this year’.

“But the seventh year, possibly it could happen. But especially for Bobby because it is his only chance to do this.

“I have had such a brilliant time with Bobby and I feel like he really deserves it so. It would be an absolute dream come true.”

A couple of weeks back the pair performed their couples choice which told the story of a young boy losing his mother. Bobby was just 6 years old when his mother Jade Goody died of cervical cancer.

Touching on how it feels to be able to do the dance again, Bobby said: “I like that all of our dances are different.

“So on the night we are going to do three dances that are all very different and it is going to encapsulate everything.

“It is not going to be all the same and show all the different feelings we have felt along the way and to be able to dance to that song again and tell a story like that again is great.”

According to bookmakers, Ellie Leach is the frontrunner to win the competition tonight with odds of 1-10.

Layton Williams follows closely behind with odds of 8-1 and Bobby backed at 12-1, leaving Coral’s Joah Hill to explain: “Such is the support and confidence behind Ellie Leach ahead of this weekend, she is the shortest priced Strictly finalist in history.

“Layton is second best in the betting, with Bobby the outsider of the three, but our odds suggest, they will be battling it out for second place.”

Strictly Come Dancing final airs Saturday from 7pm on BBC One.
