Josie Gibson lands ‘bigger This Morning role’ in latest presenting shake-up

Josie Gibson has reportedly secured herself a bigger role and pay rise with This Morning following her stint in I'm A Celeb.

The TV star, 38, delighted fans as she took part in this year's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! joining the likes of Sam Thompson, Tony Bellew and Nigel Farage. Josie finished in fourth place, despite bringing a host of laughs during her time in the jungle and being tipped to win the ITV show at one stage.

But it looks like Josie's jungle experience is leading her to further success as she is reportedly set to secure a "50 percent pay rise" for her role on This Morning. A source told The Sun: "Josie will get a new role on the show, and be bumped up to two days a week."

OK! has contacted ITV and Josie's representatives for comment.

Josie became a presenter on the ITV daytime show in 2019 but in the last year has become more of a regular host after Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby left This Morning.

Holly decided to part ways with the show following a 15-year run which came on the heels of Phillip, who made quite an exit after confessing to having an "unwise, but not illegal" relationship with a young male colleague from the daytime show while still married.

Ever since, a rotation of several hosts have been fronting the show alongside Josie, including Rochelle Humes, Alison Hammond, Dermot O'Leary and Rylan Clark. This week, ITV seemingly made their decision to have Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley as replacements for Phillip and Holly.

However, Cat has reportedly rejected ITV's big money deal to be the new female host on the show. It is understood that ITV have been left "gutted" and bosses are "tearing their hair out" after Cat chose to return to America to host So You Think You Can Dance instead.

The former SM:TV host has presented the American entertainment show in the US since 2006. A source told the publication: "There are a lot of people [at ITV] pulling their hair out right now. The relaunch date was supposed to be in January but that is no way going to happen now.

"Cat was the answer. She would have been an absolute triumph but they just couldn't make it work." The source added that it is now a case of "back to the drawing board" for ITV as they scramble to figure out what to do next.
