BBC Strictly fans demand Anton Du Beke stop habit as they plead for new judge

Dog makes appearance on Strictly Come Dancing

Strictly Come Dancing fans have been left less than impressed with Anton Du Beke during Saturday night’s finale. It comes after the judge got a little too enthusiastic when giving feedback to one finalist.

Ellie Leach and her partner Vito Coppola opened the Strictly finale with their judge’s choice dance. First performed back in week five, the duo took to the dancefloor for their Paso Doble routine.

Once they had finished it was time for the judges feedback, with Anton highly impressed. He commented: “I got a bit emotional watching that because I love this.

“This makes me go like that [excited facial feature] Come on! I wanted this dance to give me that feeling. I wanted that ‘ooh’ and it was so brilliant.

“You were so in control, but you weren’t crazy, you were calm and you whizzed down the stairs and in the middle of the- Oh it was such great shape and power.”

Before finishing his feedback, he jumped out of his seat in enthusiasm and shouted “Come on”

However, it looks as though viewers weren’t impressed with his delivery as many have hit back at his overactive approach.

Some are even calling for the judge to be replaced next year, despite being the latest star to join the panel.

@StarrOutlook said: “please get rid of Anton #strictly.”

Currently, Ellie Leach is the favourite to win the competition as bookies Ladbrokes have her odds at 1/12, a new record for the most likely winner in Strictly history.

In second place, Layton is 9/1 in the betting with soap star Bobby’s odds at 18/1.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Anything other than an Ellie win will go down as a monumental upset – arguably the biggest in Strictly history.”

He added: “Punters are dead set on the Corrie star going all the way, with Layton and Bobby merely making up the numbers in this year’s finale.”

Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
